Finding the best GPS drone under $100 doesn’t have to be that hard. At least, that is what a lot of people are saying about the Hubsan X4 H502E Desire. This is one of the first drone featuring GPS module that is fully equipped with smart functions. Even though so, it has an incredibly affordable price tag which makes the H502E Desire quite a popular GPS drone for beginners. Most of the time, GPS drones tend to be more expensive because of their intelligent flight modes and improved stability.

However, Hubsan is showing that there is an affordable option for those drone pilots who want a smart GPS quadcopter to start without denting their bank. We decided to write an in-depth review of H502E Desire to help readers as you become informed about this brand new quadcopter. The purpose of the H502E Desire review is to make an informed decision. Build & Design Quality

On the initial impression, the Hubsan X4 H502E Desire drone looks like it is built to be durable. That’s especially true because it is made of durable ABS plastic which provides toughness and impact resistance that it needs for long service life. My favorite thing about this drone is that it comes in white coating along with streaks of black on the top of the main body framework and stylish red propellers as well in the front of the camera.

H502E Desire Drone Review

The H502E Desire drone comes with a black cockpit which gives it a nice appearance for visual purpose. In front of the drone, it is mounted with an optimized 720P HD camera. For some of you who are wondering what is an optimized camera. It has been upgraded to deliver the best image quality possible compared to other drones such as the X12 Quadcopter and CoFight IN 1802. I will talk more about it later in the H502E Desire drone review.

On each end of the motor arms, there are small black plastic landing pads that support the drone. It also acts as a shock absorber to dampen the impact of landing. So to protect the drone after ending the flight operations. The motor arms are equipped with brushed motors which is a little bit disappointing. If the drone comes with brushless motors such as the Mirage Pro and HS700 Ophelia does, it would have easily become one of the best and affordable GPS drone. Although, the build and design quality, in general, is still above the average.

The H502E Desire drone is an incredible quadcopter packed with excellent performance. Mainly because it is equipped with a GPS module that enables the drone to communicate up to 12 satellites to acquire precise flight controls. In general, the GPS mode works pretty well and performs intelligent flight modes such as smart return to home just fine. However, if you do want to have a reliable GPS drone, you might want to spend a bit more and get the H502S Desire which features better upgrades.

Performance-wise, the H502E Desire comes with a high-powered battery that provides you approximately 9 minutes of flight time. How long you will be flying the drone depends on the weather factors and how aggressive you are piloting. So, it would be a great idea to pick up at least a few extra batteries to extend your flight sessions. But, keep it in your mind that the H502E Desire is a powered brushed drone. It is recommended that you give it at least 10 minutes of cooling down since the brushed motors will cause a lot of friction.

In the end, the Hubsan X4 H502E Desire is a great performing drone crafted for beginners and kids. It doesn’t come with a lot of nice upgrades that the H502S Desire does, but the flight controls and ease of use are still simple enough for beginners with no prior flying experience. Check out the video below to see the drone’s performance in the action. In the next part of Hubsan X4 H502E Desire review, we are going to talk about its features.

In addition to that, this drone is fully loaded with GPS assisted functions like altitude holding and smart return to home. These features simplify your flight operation and are automated. For instance, the moment you take off the drone, it remembers the landing point. When you activate return to home, the drone will automatically fly back to home point and land. Which is a nice and beginner-friendly feature to have for beginners and kids.
