  • Price – a reasonable price for what you get and cheaper than the higher specification alternatives. You can use the extra cash you’ve saved on an extra battery or two, to have more flight time.
  • Compatible with the Walkera augmented reality app, for games. Although this may seem gimmicky and unsafe, it is nice to see manufacturers trying to achieve greater product longevity for their users.
  • Compact/Portable without sacrificing features. The Vitus will fit easily into most bags and doesn’t require a huge specialist backpack like the Phantom series.
  • Flight time is good for most users. The only reason you would need longer in the air would be for professional work, in which case the batteries are quick and easy to swap out.

Walkera VITUS 320 Drone Features

The Walkera VITUS 320 and DJI Mavic Pro have quite a several in common. So, we’ll be looking into that first to find out what’s the same and what’s different. This is like a mini comparison between the VITUS 320 and Mavic Pro guide. It simply just looks reasonable to do so because the VITUS 320 is positioned as a direct competitor to DJI at a much lower price tag.

Walkera VITUS 320 Review

Similarities: VITUS 320 vs Mavic Pro

  • Foldable motor arms that makes these drones compact and easy to transport. When unfolded, they have the benefits of a large drone.
  • Integrated with 4K video capabilities.
  • Built-in 3-Axis gimbal stabilizer to deliver smooth aerial footage.
  • HD video transmission to high quality lives video feed from the drone.
  • GPS / GLONASS module that allows accurate indoor and outdoor flight with minimal drift.

Differences: VITUS 320 vs Mavic Pro

  • 3D Obstacle Avoidance sensors, the VITUS 320 can see the left and right sides while the Mavic Pro only can see forward.
  • Only can capture stills in JPEG format which isn’t great for any photographers. DJI Mavic Pro can produce both JPEG + RAW format stills.
  • It comes with a larger flight battery that is bigger than Mavic Pro but results in shorter flight time.
  • The transmitter comes with an optional extension piece that supports tablets which is a nice addition without having to pay extra.
  • No built-in screen to display flight information. However, the information is displayed on your phone/tablet which is missing.
  • Limited control distances up to 1,500 meters compared to Mavic Pro that has a flight distance of up to 7,000 meters.
  • Barrel connector for charging the controller than micro USB. It isn’t that handy, but not a big deal anyway.
  • The Devo-F8S Transmitter produces a 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi hotspot than using a cable to connect. This will limit what type of mobile devices you can use with this drone. To check if your mobile device is compatible, google your phone’s name + 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi and you will have the answer.

Walkera VITUS 320 Drone Flight Performance

When it comes to the next part of the review, the flight performance is the most important section. As you can see, the Walkera 320 VITUS drone is one of several quadcopters that sports a good flight performance thanks to its integrated 3D obstacle avoidance sensors. In addition to that, it comes with good flight time and limited control distance. However, the Walkera VITUS 320 drone falls slightly behind the popular DJI Mavic Air and Mavic Pro.

One of the main factors is that the Walkera VITUS 320 drone comes with a powerful and large battery capacity. Which, of course, should result in longer flight time. Instead, it reduces how much flying time the VITUS 320 drone has. This foldable camera drone only can be flown up to an average between 22 to 28 minutes. When compared to the new DJI Mavic 2 Pro / Mavic 2 Zoom that has lower battery capacity but longer flight time, it puts the VITUS 320 drone to shame.

Although, it’s still an impressive flying gadget for its price tag. Thanks to its flexibility and powerful brushless motors that change this drone into an incredible flying machine that delivers stellar aerial performance. You can easily produce quality content thanks to its built-in 12MP camera mounted on a 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. In addition to that, it comes with intelligent flight modes that make it very easy for beginners to learn how to fly a professional-grade camera drone.

Walkera VITUS 320 Drone Final Verdict

Before I conclude the review about this drone. Let’s recap what we talked about throughout the article. The Walkera VITUS 320 drone is a good foldable camera drone that comes with several interesting features. Furthermore, it allows buyers to get them at a much lower price point compared to the drones sold by DJI. Although, there are some downsides at these cheaper price tag limits the features.

Walkera VITUS 320 Foldable Drone Review

If the features are what appeals to you the most and the Mavic Pro seems to be too expensive for you. The Walkera VITUS 320 drone is a good alternative option. Thanks to its 4K video capabilities and integrated 3-Axis stabilized gimbal. In addition to that, it can deliver over 20+ minutes of flight time. This is a drone that achieves feats and is a very capable camera quadcopter that will exceed your expectations.

As always, you can buy this drone on Amazon. Be sure to check it occasionally as its price tag usually varies from time to time. Editor's Review

The Walkera VITUS 320 foldable camera drone is an affordable flying gadget that delivers stellar quality. However, professional aerial photographers probably would prefer high-end models such as Mavic Pro or Phantom 4. If you are looking for a drone that fewer features and at a bargain price tag, the Walkera VITUS 320 drone is definitely a good camera drone to pick.

PROS
  • Price – a reasonable price for what you get and cheaper than the higher specification alternatives. You can use the extra cash you’ve saved on an extra battery or two, to have more flight time.
  • Compatible with the Walkera augmented reality app, for games. Although this may seem gimmicky and unsafe, it is nice to see manufacturers trying to achieve greater product longevity for their users.

  • Flight time is good for most users. The only reason you would need longer in the air would be for professional work, in which case the batteries are quick and easy to swap out.
CONS
  • JPEG only no RAW image capture. It also appears that the Walkera is missing bracketing and burst shooting.
  • 1.5km range in itself isn’t bad, but when transmission conditions are not optimal, this will be reduced further.
  • The Vitus App (Walkera Go) is clunky and not as clean as DJI Go, although there are a number of similarities.
  • Object avoidance doesn’t seem to work too well, you can get very close to objects before the object avoidance registers unless the obstacle extends well above the drone. This is not ideal for avoiding flying into people! There is also a Walkera Vitus Lite version, without obstacle avoidance altogether.
  • Auto modes are unreliable and seem to cause the quadcopter to fly unpredictably. This could cause the Vitus to crash if the pilot is inexperienced, so beware!
  • The gimbal does not appear as stable as Mavic. There is shakiness/judder in some footage when flown in reasonably windy conditions.
  • No DJI Care Refresh – so when you crash you could face a large repair bill!
